Print drying is just the ticket

The car parking tickets feature blocks of black ink to alert users that rolls are in need of imminent replacement.

These 'alert blocks' require large amounts of ink which need to be dried at speeds to match the printing.

The purpose-designed drying system consists of a 12.9kW carbon medium wave, infrared system providing highly efficient drying, as water absorbs infrared most strongly in the medium wave section of the spectrum.

An optical pyrometer measures the temperature of the web after it leaves the heating/drying module. As the line speed increases or slows, or if ambient conditions change, the system's infrared emitters are regulated to maintain a preset temperature.
