Elfab has been awarded a US patent for its reverse-acting rupture disc - Opti-Gard SoLo. SoLo is now a registered trademark and has been granted patents in the UK, the EU and the US.

The device was developed for low pressure applications from 2psig and has a 95% operating-to-burstpressure ratio and a performance tolerance of just 3%. Tested to more than 100,000 cycles, it affords good cycle life and leak tightness. The addition of SoLo to Elfab's range is said to give customers the opportunity to rationalise stock holdings by a typical 65%.

Opti-Gard SoLo comes pre-fitted with Integral Flo-Tel, Elfab's noninvasive, magnetic burst detection system that operates only when a disc has ruptured, eliminating both false alarms and downtime in the event of a disc functioning.
