In response to customer demands for a process that will black stainless steel and most ferrous and non-ferrous metals Blackfast Chemicals now offers the LP process.
Blackfast LP-Black is a cathodic electrophoretic process for depositing a tough, black pigmented coating onto any substrate that can normally be electroplated - including aluminium, brass, stainless steel and zinc diecastings. The process can also be used to produce a large variety of other colours.
Blackfast Chemicals has a sample processing facility/demonstration line for both processes in Barwell, Leicestershire where anyone who wishes to see the processes in operation are welcome.
Blackfast Chemicals manufacturer and supplier of the well know Room Temperature Blacking Process for iron and steel.
This is an inexpensive and convenient process developed for reliable in-house use eliminating the need for metal parts to leave the production facility for finishing by an outside contractor.
"The immediate benefits being cost savings, no production delays, in-house quality control and flexibility," says the company.
"Cost savings are achieved because the process requires no expensive capital investment, short dwell time allows rapid throughput of production and replenishment is accomplished by 'topping up' when the solutions become weak so dumping of chemicals is not necessary.
"The uniform matt black finish is extremely popular and adds considerably to the perceived value of the finished article."
