Two FANUC robots are helping
European foam products
manufacturer, Recticel BV, to
automate production of its new
Polygrow products which provide a
substrate for the growth of plants.
Products comprise two foam elements: Grow Block, a 65mm cube with a recess for plant plugs; and a Plate, a 0.9 to 1.33m length of foam wrapped in foil onto which the Grow Blocks are placed when plants are established. Abar Automation, strategic partner of FANUC, carried out trials of handling the plates and FANUC robots were subsequently selected for collation of plates and palletising.
