Transdek has received a
Queen's Award for
Enterprise in Innovation
for its developments in
truck loading systems.
The award recognises the company's innovation in the production and installation of modular hydraulic lifts to service double deck trailers, which are said to carry up to 67% more product than conventional HGV's. This has enabled transport operators to make cost and environmental savings, with one of the UK's largest supermarkets chains claiming a reduction of 12 million road miles travelled in 2010.
The lifts, designed for loading goods to and from fixed double deck vehicles, have increased the viability of double deck trailer deliveries across a wide range of sites and industry sectors.
