To cope with substantial growth in its business, automated handling and storage specialist TGW plans to build a new, bigger office at Peaker Park in Market Harborough.
In 2007 TGW launched its UK operation with three employees and a turnover of £275,000. Five years on and the number of employees has increased to over 80 and the turnover for year ending June 2011 was in excess of £30m.
Having outgrown its current premises on the same site, TGW believes the offices will play an important part in supporting the company's growth plans going forward.
If planning consent is given, the 12,000 sq ft building will provide a modern and comfortable environment for employees. Primarily these are employed in sales, business development & marketing, design & project engineering, project management and Lifetime Services roles.
Subject to planning permission being granted, it is anticipated that TGW will become one of Market Harborough's largest employers. As such, the company will play an important role in the local community.
Phil Steeds, sales director at TGW said: “In line with our growth plans, we are committed to establishing a positive presence in the town. As well as providing a significant jobs boost for the area, the apprenticeship scheme is designed to foster young talent to benefit the company, and the individuals, now and into the future.â€
