The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) invites facilities managers, building designers, building services modellers and researchers to discuss the improvement of energy efficiency at the Mind the Performance Gap - regulated vs unregulated conference at its HQ on 16th October, 2012.
The Institution believes that in the current climate, as attention has turned to the demand side for energy, experts in this sector need to pool all relevant knowledge to develop and improve how energy is managed now, and for buildings in for the future.
CIBSE president, David Fisk, drew attention to the fact that the industry now needs to concentrate on measuring and learning from the performance of real buildings in his inaugural presidential address.
CIBSE's Mind the Performance Gap event will cover themes pertinent to understanding the current thinking on measuring performance and how actual performance can be related to design. The Keynote Presentation "What the industry needs to measure" will be given by Bill Bordass, building performance consultant and research & policy adviser at the Usable Buildings Trust.
