Coating role

The hydrophobic coating is said to inhibit corrosion, slow erosion and improve fluid flow. It has been applied to a wide range of fluid handling systems.

For example, in 1991 a water supply company in Australia was faced with a rapidly deteriorating water transfer pump with falling flow output. Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) was applied and the customer subsequently reported an 8% efficiency gain, along with an 11% flow increase, which resulted in close to $60k energy savings per year.
