Belzona 1111 (Super Metal), a twocomponent repair composite based in a ceramic steel reinforced polymer system, was used on damaged diffuser vanes, while Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) was used for areas of high erosion-corrosion pitting. It is easily applied by hand to damaged metallic components and protects against erosion-corrosion. Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) was used for the internal coating of fluid flow areas such as impellors and diffusers.
The company says the coating, which is used for efficiency enhancement, has shown an improvement of up to 5% can normally be achieved when coating new pumps.
