Flameproof barrier glands

Flexicon has extended its range of flameproof hazardous area EXD barrier glands to provide stainless steel (grade 316) fittings for applications that require additional corrosion resistance.

The company has also introduced NPT threaded gland variants across its range of hazardous area fittings to further broaden their application and compatibility.
Suitable for Ex d, Ex e and Ex ta applications the stainless steel fittings have an ingress rating of up to IP69k, making them suitable for arduous installations. They can be used with any 10 of the 11 liquid tight conduit from Flexicon’s range to provide cable protection solutions in Zone1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22 hazardous areas.
The stainless steel grade 316 fitting is supplied with a nylon seal and two-part epoxy resin pack, instructions and gloves. It can be used with individual cores or oversheathed cable and has a high mechanical strength. The barrier gland has an operating temperature of -60 to 85°C.
