Compact, powerful gearboxes
24 September 2014
New from ABB is a range of compact, yet powerful gearboxes called Quantis. The gearboxes feature three industry-leading gear motors and reducer solutions: in-line helical (ILH), motorised shaft mount (MSM) and right angle helical-bevel (RHB).

Quantis gearboxes are between 94 and 98% efficient, which can deliver significant cost savings to end users through reduced energy bills. They are designed to achieve greater output torque and power ratings and offer an expanded ratio range that allows the customer to downsize from existing units, resulting in reduced product costs.
Power capacity ranges from 0.18 to 55kW. Multiple input options are available, including integral motor, separate input and C-face adapter for the mounting of both IEC and NEMA motors.
