Martindale Electric has supplied Worcester, Bosch Group with VIPD138 safe isolation kits which contain the VI-13800 voltage indicator and the PD440 proving unit. The VI-13800 allows Worcester, Bosch Group engineers to prove the installations they are working on in the field are dead and avoid potentially hazardous live voltages.
The VI-13800 is capable of measuring voltage range of 50-600V AC/DC, fully complies with BS EN61243-3:2010 and has a high wattage resistor in the probe that will limit the current in the event of damage to the cable.
This protection is superior to the protection offered by a fuse as the current that can flow under fault conditions is considerably less and is built in where it’s needed in the probe.
