The future of the energy industry

19 March 2018

COPA-DATA, is inviting organisations that operate in the energy sector to attend its zenon Energy Day UK.

COPA-DATA develops intelligent software systems for use in energy and infrastructure. The company’s software, zenon, controls and monitors equipment for energy distribution and for the generation of electricity from renewable sources.

At its zenon Energy Day UK,it will address the current challenges and changes that the energy industry is facing, such as the increasing market for renewable power generation and the best practice for substation automation.

Through a series of keynote speeches and talks, COPA-DATA will provide a platform for discussion among industry experts and provide demonstrations of how its own software, zenon, can address some challenges in the sector. Keynote speakers include, Jürgen Resch, Energy Industry Manager at COPA-DATA, Mark Clemens, Technical Product Manager at COPA-DATA and Ian Banham, IoT Technical Sales Lead UK for Microsoft.

Existing COPA-DATA customers will be invited to the event, but non-customers that are curious about how the sector is changing, are also welcoming to attend.

COPA-DATA has a vested interest in the challenges facing the sector. The company’s software is often used for control and monitoring of power plants, substation and wind parks, but is also easy to integrate into existing energy infrastructures. In fact, one of the company’s recent energy projects, which involved partnering with systems integrator Capula, was awarded the prestigious Best Innovation Contributing to Quality & Reliability of Electricity Supply award at the UK Energy Innovation Awards 2017.

“Britain’s energy sector is changing at a rapid pace, but, as a result, there is a lot of work to be done to ensure that our infrastructure can keep up with advancing technology,” explained Lee Sullivan, Regional Manager at COPA-DATA UK. “At the Energy Day, we will discuss the challenges the industry is facing, illustrated by case studies of successful energy projects in Europe — including COPA-DATA’s project to connect fifteen distributed hydroelectric power plants in Slovenia.”

Attendance to the zenon Energy Day UK is free of charge and a welcome coffee, refreshments and lunch will be provided on the day. However, spaces are limited. If you are interested in attending or would like to nominate someone from your company to attend, please register in advance on the COPA-DATA UK website.
