Hire Association Europe and Event Hire Association appoints new board of directors
13 January 2026
HIRE ASSOCIATION Europe and Event Hire Association (HAE EHA) have announced a new Board of Directors, following a review of governance arrangements.

The newly elected board members include Paul Mabey, major account manager for Global Accounts at JCB, David Fox, regional manager at Huws Gray Plant and Tool Hire, Andrew Thompson, CEO of Cleveland Group, and Josh Thompson, MD at GR8 Tool Hire.
"We are delighted to announce our new board. Each member will be given a specific focus to lead on, such as the industry supply chain and independent hirers. We look forward to sharing more details with our members in the coming months," said Paul Gaze, HAE EHA CEO.
They join previously elected board members Phil Leahy, chair of HAE EHA and executive director of Sunbelt Rentals UK, Sally Wray, association vice-chair of HAE EHA and owner of GoHire Group, David Probert, business development director at Seddons Plant and Engineers, and Stuart Slaughter, co-founder and MD of Plato Catering Hire.
HAE EHA is the leading trade association for the plant, tool and equipment hire and event industries, serving over 800 members across the world.
The new governance arrangements will create additional strategic focus for the association and allow a wider range of working groups and committees to address some of the challenges faced by members within the sector, including security, safety, and sustainability.
All those elected under the previous governance arrangements will become HAE EHA committee members working across the sector with other stakeholders and partners on behalf of members to raise standards and promote the professional nature of the hire and rental sector.
Internally, the HAE EHA board is represented by Paul Gaze, CEO, Neil Bravery, Commercial Director, Mark Bradshaw, Director of Public Affairs, and Carl Bartlett, Director of Certification Services.
"The new board of directors provides the Association with enhanced focus and member insight to accelerate delivery on those things that matter most to members. The new arrangements will bring together a broader range of member expertise to the benefit of the entire hire sector," stated Phil Leahy, HAE EHA chair.
