Safety for charging infrastructure - PODIS surge protection module
11 September 2026
PUBLIC CHARGING infrastructure requires reliable protection against transient overvoltages. According to IEC 60364-7-722 / DIN VDE 0100-722, charging points must be protected directly within the final circuit.

The PODIS surge protection module is part of a coordinated protection approach for EV charging infrastructure. With integrated and pre-wired SPDs, protection is implemented directly at the connection to the flat cable, exactly where it is required.
Two versions available - depending on the application:
🔹 Basic version: integrated SPD Type 2
🔹 Extended version - coming soon: integrated SPD Type 2 + 3, LED status indication and replaceable modules[FN1.1]
Your benefits:
✅ No additional separate surge protection box required
✅ Time savings during installation and retrofitting
✅ Cost savings thanks to fewer components
✅ Minimal space requirements
✅ IP65 protection rating, lockable and robust
