ABB has won an order from turnkey power plant contractor, Rodax, to design, engineer, supply and commission a complete distributed control system solution for an energy-efficient 427MW, gas-fired thermal power plant.

plant is being built on the
island of Evia in eastern
Greece.
The solution is based on ABB's state-of-the-art System 800xA automation platform and includes its System 800xA High-Integrity SIL3- rated safety and protection system. ABB is also responsible for the seamless integration of the gas and steam turbine control systems, supplied separately through turbine manufacturer, Alstom.
