Hughes Pumps has increased the
working pressure of four of its
pumps designed for water jetting
applications from 1000 to 1400 bar
(20,000 psi). The greater water jet
velocity produced delivers increasing
cutting efficiency with a
corresponding reduction
in flow-rate that reduces
the reaction force to
more comfortable levels.
When using UHP for hydro-demolition/ concrete cutting it removes only the concrete so does not damage the rebar underneath; it is said to be faster than conventional methods; and there is no vibration so neither micro cracks nor fractures develop on the remaining concrete structures.
