between the manufacture and assembly
of cast iron engine components.
The components are machined and then cleaned in a hot aqueous spray system, prior to being dispatched.
Because the components are shipped dry with limited corrosion protection, rusting had occurred in the past. This resulted in parts being returned for reworking which was both expensive and detrimental to customer relations.
Factory trials were run with Spray Wash Cleaner-VCI (Aqua 10VCI) at a concentration of 5%, the results of which proved a high level of cleanliness and three times the level of corrosion protection offered by an existing product, allowing storage of components for up to six weeks.
