TÜV SÜD Product Service has
introduced its ATEX Safety Service to
reassure component and machinery
manufacturers that their equipment
complies with European Directive
ATEX 95 - 94/9/EC and will be safe
to use in potentially explosive
environments.
Manufacturers that use the service
will reduce time to market for new
products and ensure that existing
items can continue to be sold legally.
This is because as a Notified Body, TÜV SÜD can offer product certification of both electrical and non-electrical equipment under the ATEX Product Directive.
The service will also support users of machinery who operate a processing facility in a potentially explosive environment. They must comply with ATEX 137 - 99/92/EC (ATEX Workplace Directive) to reduce the risk to their workers in the explosive atmosphere.
