With Testo's SuperResolution Technology, the resolution of thermal images recorded with its camera are subsequently enhanced in the software.

Images are intensified providing greater detail and clarity.

A sequence of several images is saved each time a picture is taken.

Calculations are made from this sequence and the result, says Testo, is a higher resolution image.

Everybody has a natural amount of hand quiver which results in minimal movements while the image is being taken. This method is said to use these movements. A series of images is created that are minimally offset at random from each other.

The result, the company says, is that from a 160 x 120 pixel image, a 320 x 240 pixel image is achieved, and from a 320 x 240 pixel image, a 640 x 480 pixel is achieved.

The technology is available to all Testo thermal imaging cameras. For models 875, 876, 881 and 882 purchased already, it can be activated via a software upgrade.
