Automation is playing an
increasingly important role in giving
manufacturers a competitive edge.
There is growing emphasis on process optimisation, not only to maximise productivity but to minimise energy costs and wastage.
FLIR's says its infrared imaging can improve process monitoring and control, quality assurance, asset management, machine condition monitoring and minimise fire risk and power consumption.
It has published an IR Automation Guidebook. This takes the reader from the principles of thermographic measurement and through the processes of IR camera integration. It offers advice on data communication interfaces, command and control of the infrared camera, interfacing with a PC or PLC controller and provides an overview of standard software packages.
