Pro-Dek Storage Systems has provided almost seven miles of storage as part of a major expansion programme by Righton, a metal and plastics stockholder.

Following completion of several previous contracts, Pro-Dek was asked to provide a mix of cantilever racking, shelving, mezzanines and parts storage at new sites near Manchester and Glasgow and at an existing warehouse in Birmingham.

The cantilever racking is Pro-Dek's heavy duty Pro- Bolt system up to 7m high, designed to make use of a building's height, and with arm lengths of 1000, 1250, 1500 and 2100mm. Up to 13 storage levels were provided to allow for the range of product to be stocked. Arms adjust in 150mm increments.

At the customers request, some existing cantilever racking was used, following assessment for suitability.

Pro-Dek also installed lateral beams in some locations to allow for pallet storage.

Racking included both standard and narrow aisles.

In the narrow aisle sections, floor-fixed guide rails were fitted to prevent damage.
