Condition monitoring

The igus PPDS condition monitoring system has generally only been implemented as a safety feature for cable management applications in large scale projects, such as offshore cranes. The tool can monitor the condition of the energy chain system, alert a maintenance engineer and shut down the system if necessary.

Now, igus has introduced a basic version that can be used in smaller industrial applications. The PPDS Basic version monitors push/pull forces to give a simple emergency stop mechanism suitable for energy chains in long travel applications to 100m.
