SSI Schaefer has supplied and installed a trackless mobile shelving system for Nottinghamshire Police, achieving an 80% increase in storage capacity.

The system, which houses more than 7500 euro sized plastic containers for material storage, was installed into a 325m2 office floor area.

Vince Chiverton, Retained Property Projects Premises Officer, said: "SSI Schaefer's trackless mobile shelving system was the perfect solution for our storage requirements. It has enabled us to keep the existing floor at the same level; if we had opted for a traditional system, a false floor would have been necessary to accommodate the tracks, resulting in disruption." SSI Schaefer designed the mobile bases to accommodate extra wide shelving bays, needed to store five boxes along the length of each shelf.

Quick to install, the system provides a low maintenance storage facility that can be relocated as required.
