Intra-logistics solutions manufacturer Jungheinrich UK was named winner of the Warehouse and Materials Handling Award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport's (CILT) recent Annual Awards for Excellence ceremony.

The judges considered Jungheinrich's work at wine and spirits importer, Matthew Clarke's new facility at the Port of Bristol to be the outstanding materials handling project of 2012.

In making their decision, they sought evidence of the use of innovative ideas and good practice as well as success in overcoming technical challenges and other difficulties.

Jungheinrich designed a storage system for Matthew Clark that made optimum use of the available space, and supplied reach trucks with project-specific features and design innovations which allowed Matthew Clark to improve energy efficiency and maximise productivity within the new store.
