At the Tata Steel plant, Rotherham, three 90kW flume flush pumps are used to flush water across the billet to carry away scrap. They were driven by motors running direct-online, with no form of speed control.
Halcyon Drives installed three 90kW and two 75kW ABB industrial drives. IP55 rated, they have in-built intelligent pump function, multi-pump control, and ensure the optimum number of pumps is running.
