ABB is a national winner in
the EEF Future
Manufacturing Awards 2012.
The company won the EEF National Green and Growth Award 2012 after winning the North West Region Green and Growth Award in November.
The award recognises ABB's technical ingenuity in persuading customers to adopt energy saving measures for motor-driven processes, developing an energy appraisal and savings illustration app that could help them reduce their carbon footprint and cut electricity bills.
The company's Energy Efficiency Plan was developed to overcome market reluctance to try VSDs, which can reduce the energy used by motors by 20% on average.
The energy appraisal determines the energy saving and CO2 emission reduction potential of a site in just half a day.
