Toxic liquid level sensor
06 June 2013
Easy to install and use, PVL’s new magnetostrictive level sensor, The Torrix, from German sensor specialist Fafnir, is accurate to 0.3mm.

This makes it suitable for precise level measurement (allowing leak detection in smaller tanks for example) and has often been used in calibration rigs to check the accuracy of other level sensors.
No electrical insulating sealing is needed so, in contrast to other technologies such as microwave sensors, The Torrix is a safe solution in toxic liquids, such as ammonia, as the sensor can be welded directly to the flange.
