CGTech and SGS Carbide Tool sign technical partnership agreement
07 August 2013
With the recent signing of a technical partnership agreement, SGS Carbide Tool becomes the latest Tooling Partner with CGTech, developer of independent CNC simulation and optimisation software, VERICUT.
The full version of VERICUT 7.2.1 will be installed at the specialist solid carbide cutting tool company’s Technical Centre in Wokingham.
The software is used for simulating CNC machining in order to detect errors, potential collisions, or areas of inefficiency. It is used by companies of all sizes, universities/technical schools and colleges, and Government agencies in more than 55 countries. VERICUT eliminates the process of manually proving-out NC programs. It is said to reduce scrap loss and rework and to optimise NC programs to both save time and produce higher quality surface finish.
VERICUT simulates all types of CNC machine tools, including those from leading manufacturers. At SGS it will be used to check the NC programs for the latest DMG/Mori Seiki DMU 50 5-axis machining centre. VERICUT runs standalone, but can also be integrated with all leading CAM systems, including the Delcam PowerMill software used to generate CNC code by the technical staff at SGS.
