Chris Giles of Air Time CNC
in Oxfordshire is a successful
musician who now devotes
his working life to designing
and making components for
jet skis, helped by a Mini Mill
from XYZ Machine Tools.
Although he planned to outsource production, Giles started making composite GRP and carbon fibre parts, progressing to the machining of aluminium and stainless steel components after QC and delivery problems with suppliers. He discovered through the Internet XYZ Machine Tools and visited one of its show-rooms to see a Mini Mill compact VMC.
The Mini Mill has an easyto- use control and came with a two-day training course, tooling package and 3-year warranty. Its 3100kg weight ensures a high level of rigidity, while Meehanite ribbed cast iron construction lets full use be made of the 11kW/ 8000 rev/min (12,000rev/min optional) BT40 spindle.
