Clamp-on flow measurement

In order to reduce its use of chlorine for safety, economic and environmental reasons, prepared salad supplier, Bourne Prepared Produce, identified the need for a series of flow meters to measure the flow of water throughout the production lines.
Having used Micronics meters for some years and had found them to be very effective and reliable, Bourne selected 8 UF2000 clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters because they could be installed without the need to cut into existing pipe work.
This meant significantly lower installations costs and less disruption than an alternative, in–line meter installation. A further advantage was that the residual venting problems associated with system drain down would also be avoided.
