Manufacturing's high flyers recognised

Distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, Brammer, and distributor of tools, maintenance and health and safety products, Buck & Hickman, showcased examples of best practice, innovation and continuous improvement in maintenance spares procurement and management at their 2013 Manufacturing Forum and Awards.

The keynote address was given by Will Butler-Adams, MD of Brompton Bicycle Co, which designs and produces more than 30,000 folding bikes each year from its UK factory.
The winners of the awards categories, judged by senior representatives from Brammer and Buck & Hickman in association with leading trade media editors, were as follows:

- Brammer - Reduced Working Capital through Inventory Management: Royal Mint (Highly commended: Ball Packaging)
- Brammer - Reduced Total Acquisition Costs: Lynemouth Power
- Buck & Hickman - Improved Production Efficiency: Royal Mail
- Buck & Hickman - Reduced Total Acquistion Costs: Npower (Highly commended: Rolls Royce and Siemens)
- Buck & Hickman - Supplier Relationship Award: Siemens (Highly commended: Tata Steel)
