Sound and vibration meters

25 March 2014

Svantek’s power-packed SVAN 971 sound level meter and analyser is an up-to-the-minute pocket-sized device that offers features such as audio event recording, detachable pre-amp & microphone, a dosimeter function and a vast time/history logging capability.

Conforming to IEC 61672-1 standard, the SVAN 971 is suitable for industrial hygiene, short period environmental, and general acoustic noise measurement. It provides broadband results with all required weighting filters, as well as 1/1 octave & 1/3 octave analysis.  It has a high-contrast colour OLED-type display and can be operated in a wide range of temperatures and environments.

Also available is the SVAN 977, a new generation of Type 1 sound and vibration instruments. It has the ability to record results in three acoustic or vibration profiles, so that measurements can be performed with three separate filters and three distinct detector time constants.

Extremely lightweight and equally robust, the finely-tuned 977 is simple to use to measure and analyse both sound and vibration and works equally effectively in workplace health and safety and/or environmental monitoring.

Like the 971, the 977 provides broadband results with all the standard weighting filters and offers an incredible time/history logging capability. Boasting a MicroSD card that gives almost unlimited logging capacity, a Bluetooth interface, a Smartphone application that extends its measurement capabilities and a selection of remote methods of communication such as GPRS, Ethernet, WLAN or ZigBee, the 977 is said to pack a huge punch for its size and price tag.
