Keeping the World Cup cool
08 July 2014
Danfoss supplied products for several of the FIFA World Cup facilities in Brazil. Common to all installations is that Danfoss helped to keep players and guests cool and comfortable; while saving energy.

In the World Cup sports arenas, Danfoss technology – such as variable speed drives and scroll compressors – saved up to 30% energy in the air-conditioning systems and ensuring comfortable temperatures. Danfoss products also optimised the air-conditioning systems in the new buses that transported players and guests between the various locations and in the FIFA broadcast headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, where journalists from around the world reported on the games.
Julio Molinari, President of Danfoss Latin America, says: "We think it has been fantastic to be able to contribute to the World Cup, providing the best possible comfort for the players and audience. The energy savings achieved through our products are crucial in Brazil as resources are limited and electricity costs high.”
