Coolant saver

Newbury-based, Progressive Technology provides CNC machining services for many of the leading high tech industry sectors and reclaims coolant from the swarf bins located alongside each of its advanced machine tools using a Wogaard Coolant Saver.
A big issues for the company is machining using high pressure through spindle coolant that floods the machines unless the chip-conveyors are kept on all the time. However, this can soon fill the swarf bins with coolant.
The Wogaard Coolant Saver was introduced to the company and the first unit was tested for a few weeks. Staff could straight away see the benefit, it is simple to use and, with its water miscible coolant mix running at between 6 and 9%, it has saved a fortune, with the benefit of reduced sump top-ups and improved housekeeping.
