Ultrasonic flow meter
26 January 2016
The FDT7000 Series ultrasonic flow meter from Omega is known for ease of installation.

The clamp-on pipe sensors do not require pipe fittings or breaking of the line as they do not come into contact with the internal liquid. The technology also has advantages over other ultrasonic devices such as low-cost, easy installation no pressure head loss, no moving parts to maintain or replace and is designed to work on PVC ,PP and UPVC pipe systems.
The flow meter has a powered (sourced) 4 to 20mA analogue output which shares a common ground with the power supply. The output transmits a continuous current signal that is proportional to liquid flow rate. The output is scaled at the factory; to ensure that the instrument or data acquisition system that is receiving the 4 to 20mA signal responds properly, it must be spanned identically to the flow.
