Chance for energy managers to showcase excellence

06 January 2016

The call for entries to the Energy Institute (EI)'s Energy Manager of the Year award is now open and will close on Friday, 22 January 2016. This award is presented as part of edie's annual Environment and Energy Awards, celebrating outstanding excellence in sustainable business practices.

Sarah Beacock FEI, skills and capability director, Energy Institute, says: "The EI has a long-standing partnership with these awards, having judged this category since its inception in 2000. Energy management is an increasingly important discipline, and Energy Managers play a vital role in the delivering of company-wide energy efficiency schemes and, in turn, contributing to the UK’s energy policy goals."

The Energy Manager of the Year award acknowledges the achievements of Energy Managers in their efforts to implement efficient energy practices in the workplace. Entrants must provide a concise summary, including details of how they have achieved management buy-in to secure investment in time and resources, what measures have been implemented specifically to improve energy performance, along with information of the energy savings achieved.

Beacock adds: "The EI has supported the energy management sector for over 20 years and recognition for this field of expertise is growing. We are the only professional body licensed to offer the title of Chartered Energy Manager, the pinnacle of achievement for those responsible for energy management in their organisation. This award showcases the specialist knowledge of Energy Managers and focuses attention on some of the best projects in the UK. We are delighted to be the new sponsors of the award which cements the EI’s role as the leading body for energy managers in the UK."
