Western Business Exhibitions adds Maintec to portfolio

13 May 2016

Western Business Exhibitions, publisher of Industrial Plant & Equipment (IP&E), has bought two UK exhibitions from Easyfairs UK & Global, part of the Artexis Easyfairs group: Maintec, for the maintenance engineering & asset management community; and Facilities Management, dedicated to facilities professionals in all sectors.

Western Business Exhibitions organises the Health & Safety Event, which is already a co-located event with Maintec and Facilities Management. In addition to IP&E, WBE's portfolio includes publications Controls, Drives & Automation, Cleaning Matters, Handling & Storage Solutions and Health & Safety Matters, demonstrating its strength in this market and the natural fit with the newly acquired shows.

Tim Else, events director for Western Business Exhibitions, states: “We are delighted to bring these two strong events into our portfolio, as they have a natural synergy with our business. We have very much enjoyed partnering with Easyfairs over recent years on these shows, and look forward to taking them into their next period of growth.”

The decision was made by Easyfairs to divest the events to concentrate its focus and resources on the rapid growth of its international portfolios in engineering, packaging, oil, petroleum & gas storage, and the laboratory, pharma and healthcare sectors.

Matt Benyon, MD of Easyfairs UK & Global, says: “Easyfairs UK & Global is in a period of substantial and ambitious growth, and the sale of these events enables us to focus on the growth and profitability of our large portfolio events as well as new sizeable acquisitions. We have worked closely with Western Business Exhibitions over the years, and I am therefore confident that it is ideally placed to manage the next phase of growth for the Maintec and Facilities Management events.”
