Free strain gauge webinars announced
01 June 2016
HBM has announced that its latest series of free webinars will take place on 13th and 14th June, 2016.

The seminars have been designed to fit in with challenging time constraints which can often make attending relevant training courses difficult. Covering aspects of strain gauge measurement and the professional analysis of measurement data, the first seminar, ‘Assess and Minimise Measurement Uncertainty for Strain Gauge Measurements’, takes place on 13th June at 2pm.
This webinar will look at the influence quantities that determine the accuracy of strain gauge measurement and focus on what measurements can be taken to minimise measurement errors. Presented by Jens Boersch, international product manager for electrical strain gauges, participants will also learn how to assess measurement uncertainty and confidently evaluate test results.
Following on from this, ‘Understanding the Whetstone Bridge’ on 14th June at 2pm looks at what to consider for trustworthy measurements and which pitfalls to avoid. As the resistance of strain gauges is usually measured using Whetstone Bridge configurations, Sandro Di Natale, product manager MGCPlus, CANHEAD, will explain: 'Why the non-linearity of the Whetstone Bridge configuration is not an issue, how to compensate for wire resistances in quarter bridges with only three wires and how to achieve the best measurement results in a noisy environment by using carrier frequency'.
Each webinar, which normally takes a maximum of 30 minutes, can also be accessed at a later date or simply used as a refresher course. As a further benefit, all registered attendees will receive a link to the webinar, via email, after the presentation.
HBM webinars are free-of-charge and open to anyone. Spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. To reserve your spot, go to: www.hbm.com/en/3157/webinars.
