Screwless connectors and slimline power supplies

13 October 2016

Screwless connectors, ultra-slim power supplies and an extended line of analogue input I/O were just some of WAGO’s products targeting machine builders and packaging equipment OEMs at the PPMA Total Show 2016.

Products on display included the TOPJOB S line, which offers quick and easy wiring with Push-in CAGE CLAMP. Wiring stranded conductors is always hands-free, via simple screwdriver actuation to keep the clamp open. Solid or ferruled conductors can be directly pushed in. TOPJOB S three-conductor fuse and disconnect terminal blocks are vibration proof, thermal cycling resistant and always gas tight.

All TOPJOB S terminal blocks offer a jumper retention spring for vibration-proof, maintenance-free connectivity when commoning. An extensive range of jumpering options and fast, low-cost printing with WAGO’s smartPRINTER makes the TOPJOB S easy to use and quick to install.

Also on show were WAGO’s EPSITRON CLASSIC power supplies, which offer an ultra-slim package featuring 1-, 2- and 3-phase variants. With an ambient operating temperature range of -25 to 70°C, a high transient protection level to 4kV and UL508 approval, the CLASSIC family is universally compatible with a wide range of applications and supply networks worldwide.

With uniform slim style housing and features such as integrated TopBoost, which provides power with a multiple of the rated current for up to 50ms, providing enhanced output protection of standard circuit breakers.

WAGO has also extended its line of analogue input I/O to include compact, highly accurate modules with a good price:performance ratio.

At just 12mm wide these controllers offer advanced capabilities in a very small profile, with 8 channels in a 12mm footprint. Modules are configurable by channel for maximum system flexibility, while on-board diagnostic alarms help improve system reliability.

Available in three variants that read thermocouple, analogue current, and analogue voltage input, the new modules are suitable for applications including industrial manufacturing, shipboard monitoring, and process plants.
