Sales development role

13 December 2016

Industria Bearings & Transmissions has appointed Andrew (Andy) Blackler as its new sales development engineer.

His remit includes being UK product specialist and salesman for the Murtfeldt range of chain guides, chain tensioners (Spann Boxes) and high performance plastics used mainly in the food, drink, packaging, and pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to joining Industria Bearings, Andy worked in the world of professional rugby as a data analyst for Opta Sports. This role involved him dealing with top Premiership clubs including Saracens and Leicester Tigers, as well as international teams such as England and the New Zealand All Blacks.

Andy said: “While I have until recently been working in a very different environment in the world of professional sports, my previous role gave me extensive experience of customer service and working in a high pressure environment, skills that transfer very well to my new position at Industria Bearings.

“I really enjoy meeting people and interacting with customers and I’ve loved every minute since joining Industria, it is a fantastic company with a great culture.  I’ve also spent significant time out in Germany with Murtfeldt, which was excellent.  I am particularly looking forward to working with the team to increase sales and develop new opportunities as we head into 2017.”

Roy Thomason, managing director for Industria Bearings, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy on board.  He is massively enthusiastic about the company and our products and we are confident he will have a huge contribution to make to growing our sales and expanding markets as we move forward.”
