FANUC ROBOCUT production hits 30000 units

21 April 2017

FANUC, the leading global manufacturer of factory automation solutions, has announced that the total production of its acclaimed ROBOCUT range has reached 30,000 units.

The portfolio of wire-cut electronic discharge machines (EDMs), which FANUC has manufactured since 1975, now comes with enhanced speed and precision for mould-making and parts machining.

Capable of being integrated with FANUC robots, ROBOCUT machines are helping manufacturers to optimise their efficiency by enabling continuous, unmanned operation.

Last year, FANUC launched the ROBOCUT C-iB series, which is equipped with the latest technologies, including automatic wire-feeding functions and FANUC Core Stitch technology.  The newest model in the range, ROBOCUT a-C800iB, also has a maximum cutting area of (x)800mm x (y)600mm x (z)2500mm and a work-piece mass capacity of 3000kg.

FANUC is now continuing to develop its ROBOCUT range in line with the needs of global manufacturing industry, based on more than 40 years of development and expertise.

Andrew Spence, ROBOCUT Product Manager at FANUC UK, said: “Since 1975, FANUC has been manufacturing high-precision, wire-cut, electronic discharge machines, which provide unprecedented levels of continuous automation for manufacturers.

“We are pleased to reach this important milestone in our production and look forward to developing this technology further as the needs of our customers evolve.”
