Providing practical solutions to everyday maintenance challenges

18 July 2024

Ahead of the forthcoming Industrial Maintenance Solutions Summit, we caught up with event director Rachel Godfrey to discuss what attendees can expect and some of the event highlights

IPE: Could you tell us about the Industrial Maintenance Solutions Summit and what attendees can expect from the event?

Rachel: Absolutely! The Industrial Maintenance Solutions Summit (IMSS), taking place on 10 September 2024 at Coventry’s CBS Arena, is designed to provide practical solutions to the everyday challenges faced by maintenance engineers. It will feature a comprehensive CPD-accredited conference programme, where industry leaders and subject matter experts will share best practices, case studies, and offer actionable advice. Attendees will also have the chance to explore the latest products and solutions, and network with professionals from across the UK.

With a free lunch for attendees, an on-site train station, and free parking, making it so easy to access, IMSS is a must-attend event for maintenance professionals.

IPE: When it comes to industrial maintenance, what makes IMSS different as an event?

Rachel: IMSS stands out because it's specifically tailored to address the real-world challenges maintenance personnel face daily. Instead of focusing on broader industry trends and buzzwords, IMSS zeroes in on practical, actionable insights that help reduce costs, minimise downtime, and improve efficiency. Our goal is to provide content that is not only informative but directly applicable within attendees' day-to-day working environments.

IPE: How have you ensured IMSS’ conference content is relevant and useful for maintenance professionals?

Rachel: Our team has curated IMSS’ content programme based on extensive feedback from maintenance professionals. We've identified a range of areas where there's often a disconnect between concepts like Industry 4.0 and the actual day-to-day challenges technicians and engineers face. Our content aims to bridge that gap, with sessions providing practical guidance and solutions that can be immediately implemented in the workplace.

IPE: Can you highlight some of the key speakers and topics that will be covered at IMSS?

Rachel: We have an impressive line-up of over 12 expert speakers who will cover a broad range of topics, including bearing, compressed air system and vacuum pump maintenance. Other highlights include sessions on predictive maintenance, the integration of IoT in industrial settings, and strategies for improving asset management. Each speaker brings a wealth of experience and insight, ensuring that attendees walk away with valuable knowledge and new perspectives.

IPE: And what will attendees be able see in the exhibition area?

Rachel: The focus of the exhibition component of IMSS is on equipping maintenance personnel with the tools they need to succeed. We have a number of the leading names in maintenance presenting their solutions including event sponsors Acorn Industrial Services, Endress+Hauser, UE Systems, WD40 and Uie.

Together with other well-known brands such as IndySoft Europe; MaintMaster Systems; DP Doors & Shutters; Grundfos Pumps; and Hansford Sensors, they will demonstrate a comprehensive range of products, solutions and services, designed to help streamline maintenance, improve reliability and reduce costs.

It's a fantastic opportunity for professionals to discover the latest cutting-edge technologies and fine-tune their maintenance strategies.

IPE: Who should attend IMSS and why?

Rachel: IMSS is ideal for maintenance engineers, technicians, and anyone involved in the maintenance process within an industrial context. If you're looking to stay ahead of industry trends, learn about the latest tools and technologies, and connect with like-minded professionals, this is the event for you. Whether you're focused on reducing operational costs, improving efficiency, or minimising downtime, you'll find valuable insights and solutions at IMSS.

IPE: How can interested individuals register for the event?

Rachel: Registration is easy and free! Simply visit our website at IMSS.live, where you can check out the full speaker line-up and register to attend. The website provides all the necessary details and updates about the event, so be sure to keep an eye out for any new announcements.

IPE: Can you share any success stories from previous attendees or exhibitors?

Rachel: While this is the inaugural edition of IMSS, the Western Business Media team has drawn inspiration from our extensive experience organising similar conferences and exhibitions such as Fire Safety Matters Live and Tomorrow's Warehouse. Feedback from those events has highlighted the value of practical, applicable content and the importance of networking opportunities. We anticipate that IMSS will generate similar success stories, with attendees having the chance to encounter useful new knowledge, tools, and connections.

IPE: Finally, what are you most excited about for the first edition of IMSS?

Rachel: I'm most excited about the opportunity to bring together such a diverse group of professionals, all focused on improving industrial maintenance practices, within the same space. Part of the role of B2B media is helping connect the industries we serve and IMSS is a reflection of that. The energy and collaboration that happens when subject matter experts come together to share ideas and solutions can be truly inspiring. I can't wait to see the new connections and partnerships that will be forged at IMSS.
