Laser distance sensors: Delivering precision and reliability

The Dimetix D-Series lasers combine repeatability and reliability with a measurement range spanning 0.5 to 500m and a maximum output rate of 1kHz.

They are versatile performers in a wide range of applications where there is a need to measure the distance to objects that are static or moving in the line of sight of the sensor.
The sensors have an extensive range of applications from position control and collision prevention of cranes, non-contact measurement in steel processing, to management of vehicles in freight yards or traffic lanes. The sensors can be factory-fitted by machine builders or easily mounted on buildings and plant.
There are five models, which are all 100% tested, with accuracy from ±0.5mm and repeatability of ±10.15mm. The Dimetix D-Series can measure on any natural surface without the need for a reflector plate to distances of 100m. Units are IP65 rated and have working temperature ranges of -40 to 60°C.
All models feature optional PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT outputs while RS232, RS422, SSI, NPN/PNP and 4-20mA outputs all come as standard. Software enables easy navigation through the intuitive menu enabling easy set-up of the electrical interfaces, digital outputs and measuring rate in order to program parameters to best suit the application and requirements.
