Contrinex’s new Ultra Weld miniature flat pack built for the harshest environments
11 December 2025
WHILE IT'S been over 12 years since Contrinex launched its Weld-immune inductive sensors with exceptional suppression circuitry, it has consistently introduced new products to expand its offering and address more applications.

At the Smart Production Solutions (SPS) Exhibition, Contrinex announced the latest addition to their enhanced Weld-Immune Sensor Portfolio: the Ultra Weld Miniature Flat Pack, a compact yet rugged solution engineered to deliver unwavering performance in the most demanding welding applications.
At only 17 x 8 x 4.7mm, these sensors combine a small form factor with maximum toughness. An ideal solution for applications battling relentless heat, flying spatter, or constant mechanical impact, this miniature sensor is designed to keep automated welding operations running with total confidence.
Addressing space constraints and mechanical challenges common in automated welding cells, Contrinex’s new Ultra Weld Miniature Flat Pack is designed and specified to deliver a low-profile form factor without compromising structural integrity.
The sensor is housed in an impact-resistant stainless-steel casing, engineered to ensure operational longevity even in close proximity to welding lines and the dynamic articulation paths of robotic machinery. To further mitigate the risks associated with harsh industrial environments, the sensor incorporates proprietary ActivStone technology. This advanced anti-spatter coating provides a robust defence against weld slag accumulation and thermal stress, ensuring consistent performance where standard sensors might fail due to particulate build-up.
Designed for resilience in extreme operating conditions, the sensor offers flexible integration options. Connectivity specifications include high-flex cabling or pigtail configurations featuring bright LED status indication.
For applications requiring elevated protection against direct heat and molten spatter, the assembly can be further reinforced with optional PTFE protective tubing.
Robust-environment cables withstand:
- Up to 200 °C in standard operation
- Up to 260 °C when paired with PTFE protective tubing
- No matter the temperature or process intensity, the Ultra Weld Miniature Flat Pack is ready to perform.
Product advantages:
- Ultra-compact flat-pack design for optimal placement in tight or constrained spaces
- Impact-resistant stainless-steel housing for maximum durability
- High-flex, weld-immune cable options designed for continuous motion
- Built-in LEDs for quick visual status checks
- Extended accessory range to tailor the sensor to your application
- ActivStone anti-spatter coating for long-lasting performance
