Cable tie hand tool
29 September 2018
Panduit Europe, an industry leader in control panel, wire harness and heavy-duty cable management solutions for over 60 years, is introducing a new ergonomic, manually operated, stainless steel cable tie hand tool with improved performance metrics and ergonomic features for application of standard, light-heavy and heavy cross-section Pan-Steel type MLT ties, type MLTC/MLTFC coated ties and type MLTDH double wrapped ties.

Thanks to a new ergonomic design the GS4MT-E device is said to benefit from a 27% lower handle force than comparable tools. An improved cable tie cut-off mechanism is said to minimize the handle shock to the installer’s hand by more than 50% in the heavy setting and by more than 30% in the standard setting compared to the competition. Panduit says this makes the tool much more comfortable and easier to handle and reduces the risk of repetitive motion injuries for installers.
Tension settings are quick, easy and accurate to adjust with just a pull and twist of the tension setting knob. The easy to read tension setting label of the tool improves accuracy while increasing dependability. A beveled tie side entry speeds insertion of a tie into the device. A long, narrow nose improves access to confined areas.
Furthermore, the new design of the GS4MT-E part provides an extended tool life under normal operating conditions using Panduit Stainless Steel Metal Locking Ties. The main target applications are industrial and harsh environments (e.g. oil and gas, shipbuilding), OEMs in the transportation, industrial, and military/aerospace industries, as well as contractors for solar and wind energy projects.
