Show partnership

15 June 2019

Master Abrasives will be joining up with its partner and co-exhibitor Microdiamant AG at the Ceramics UK exhibition, showing a full range of superfinishing solutions from stand number 1549.

Midlands-based Master Abrasives sells a comprehensive range of precision abrasives and teaming up with Microdiamant to include its superabrasives on their Ceramics UK exhibition stand will provide their customers with an even better selection of tools.

The Ceramics UK exhibition is being held 10-11th July at the International Centre, Telford and is co-located with The Advanced Materials Show. It is a free-to-attend event designed to showcase the very latest in high-performance materials technology for a range of applications including automotive, aerospace, construction, energy, electronics, sporting equipment and defence. With the ceramic industry growing in the UK, the show provides an ideal opportunity for the supply chain to access these manufacturers directly.

Featured on the stand at Ceramics UK will be Microdiamant’s novel IRINO composite polishing pad that closes the gap between lapping on metal plates and polishing on pads. Combined with application tailored diamond suspensions, IRINO allows for high surface qualities and impressive stock removal rates at the same time.

To complete the offering for ceramic applications, Master Abrasives is displaying the range of Master Superabrasives products. This includes resin bonded diamond wheels, available in all of the FEPA standard shapes and also specials to suit your specific requirements, and electroplated diamond wheels, both offered with a solution-based design.

A selection of advanced coolant nozzles which are designed to deliver more accurate coolant flow and pressure to the grinding zone will also be on show. These accurate coolant nozzles result in machining for grinding faster, achieving better product quality, experiencing reduced tool wear, and minimising the flowrate and size of the filter unit.

The Ceramics UK conference held at the show will provide a unique insight into the British ceramic manufacturing landscape. Mr Nicola Vella, Head of Sales & Business Development at Microdiamant AG is on the agenda and will be speaking on the topic of closing the gap between lapping and polishing. He will discuss the real challenge of finding the most efficient polishing process which at the same time meets highest quality standards.

Master Abrasives became the UK representative for Microdiamant in October last year when the technological market leaders based in Switzerland were looking for a UK partner for their diamond polishing solutions such as diamond suspensions, micron diamond powders, diamond grinding pads as well as composite polishing pads - all manufactured to highest quality standards. Ian Meredith, Master Abrasives Applications Engineering Manager, will be available on the stand to discuss technical ceramic applications and how to find the right abrasives for high quality surfaces.

Master Abrasives’ team is very familiar with grinding, lapping and polishing processes, having years of experience in these applications. Their technical representatives will be on hand on stand number 1549 to recommend to customers the best products to suit their application and production requirements and arrange product trials as required.
