Hart's High-speed doors tackle industrial heat loss
30 January 2026
HART DOOR Systems has built its reputation on practical innovation in industrial door design, most notably with its Speedor high-speed door range.

Developed in North East England, Speedor was created to address a familiar plant-floor problem: conventional roller shutters left open for convenience, leading to draughts, energy loss and uncomfortable working zones.
Under chairman Douglas Hart, the company has expanded from traditional roller shutters into specialist products including Firebrand fire shutters, Terror Screen security shutters and Typhoon storm shutters. Today, more than 20,000 Hart doors operate across 36 countries.
The Speedor range is configured for specific applications, from Speedor Mini for internal openings to Speedor Storm for external, wind-exposed locations, plus Cleanroom and conveyor-integrated variants.
Recently four Speedors were installed at a major frozen and cooked meat manufacturing plant where the Speedors were just 1.5m wide and 1.95m high, are the second smallest Speedors ever manufactured by Hart.
