The British Safety Council has
welcomed the Government's
announcement that the UK will
officially recognise Workers Memorial
Day to commemorate the many
thousands of people who have been
injured, made ill or killed by work
activities.
The UK will join many other countries around the world that officially recognise 28 April, the International Day of Action for Safety and Health at Work.
The British Safety Council's work includes developing competence to manage the risk of injury and illhealth, with employers, workers, trade unions, government and other stakeholders to prevent the continuing but avoidable tragedy of work related death.
