The third edition of the UK's largest integrated processing
and packaging exhibition - Total Processing & Packaging
2010 - takes place at the NEC from 25th to 27th May.
Visitors will have the chance to view the latest product developments, attend topical seminars and visit the Robotics & Industrial Vision Pavilion
Total Processing & Packaging, which takes place every three years, attracts key professionals from major sectors including food and drink, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, household products and chemicals. Visitors to this year's event can look forward to a wealth of new product developments and launches in these areas.
Exhibition The exhibition showcases complete production line solutions, covering key sectors including raw materials, solids and fluids handling, control and instrumentation, FMCG processing equipment, industrial plant and equipment, contract packing and manufacturing, and packaging machinery. In addition, the Packaging Innovation Hub, sponsored by Linx, will focus on packaging materials, containers, pack design and marketing, smart and intelligent packaging, and sustainable solutions.
Design Challenge At the heart of the Packaging Innovation Hub will be the 2010 Design Challenge.
First held in 2007, the Challenge invites major pack and machinery manufacturers to share their latest material and technological developments with leading design houses in order to explore opportunities for the creation of new products, market applications and consumer experiences.
Robotics and industrial vision pavilion With the changing economic landscape, businesses are continuing to seek out efficiency savings while increasing productivity. Responding to these needs, the Robotics & Industrial Vision Pavilion - in association with BARA and UKIVA - is a new feature that will provide an opportunity for visitors to find out more about the benefits of incorporating this type of technology into their businesses, while at the same time allowing them to view the latest solutions.
Interphex hub The pharmaceutical sector is well catered for through the Interphex Hub. This area will enable visitors from pharma manufacturing companies to easily find the latest innovations and developments and discuss current issues and regulatory requirements in this fast-developing and constantly evolving industry.
Seminars A further highlight throughout the three days of Total Processing & Packaging 2010 will be two wide-ranging seminar programmes, focusing on latest industry issues. In the Packaging Innovation Hub, topics covered will include waste minimisation, sustainability, consumer and retail trends, and the impact of current and forthcoming legislation, with leading industry figures and representatives from blue-chip companies, government bodies, pressure groups and retailers among the speakers.
The Interphex Hub seminars, sponsored by Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, will address the particular trends and challenges for pharmaceutical manufacturers. Anticounterfeiting is the subject of 'Mass Serialisation', a talk by Performance Pharma Tech, while 'Vision Innovations in the Pharma Industry', presented by Cognex, is another key subject.
TotalTV To help attendees plan their visit in advance, the show organiser's have just launched TotalTV at: www.totalexhibition.com/totaltv. This facility allows visitors to view live videos of the technologies that exhibitors will be exhibiting to enable them to get a real idea of their applications prior to visiting the companies at the event for face-to-face discussions.
